Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung emphasized the importance of transparency and building a strong system as the main fortress for corruption prevention in regional government governance.

He delivered this statement during the Coordinating Meeting on Combating Corruption to Realize Transparent Local Government Governance, at Candi Bentar Hall, Putri Duyung Ancol, North Jakarta, Thursday (7/10).

"Why did this become a priority at the beginning? Because in order to break the line of bad luck mentioned earlier, there must be support for poor people. And we're doing it," he explained.
On that occasion, Pramono shared his personal experience in facing the temptation of corruption amid the large budget managed by the Jakarta Government. With his track record of serving as an official for over 25 years, he acknowledged the significant pressure and temptations that come with it.
Therefore, he emphasized that the self-protection system is the main key.
"Especially what comes to mind is my grandson's face, what if someday something happens to myself. Because there are many temptations," he furthered.
Corruption KPK Vice Chairman, Johanis Tanak explained that KPK's task is to run the eradication of corruption crimes, both in prevention and enforcement, as mandated by law.
In executing the duty, his party collaborates with law enforcement agencies and local governments, including the Jakarta Government, to ensure good governance.
"What we are doing now is related to the task of preventing and eradicating corruption crimes conducted by the deputy coordinator and supervisor of state officials and law enforcement officers," he added.
Through good governance, all programs implemented using the City Budget (APBD) can be accounted for. Additionally, the budget can also be used effectively and efficiently.
"The allocated budget is then used to the fullest extent possible and can be accounted for to the community, the nation, and the country," he added.
Jakarta City Council Chairman, Khoirudin uttered, his party commitment was to work together to prevent corruption for the benefit of society and the nation.
"We sincerely want to serve for the interests of the nation, the country, and Jakarta people," he stated.
